Welcome to Pagewood Park!
Tucked into the heart of Cheltenham, Pagewood Park has been home to a close-knit community since 1978 and its story begins even earlier. The land was farmed for generations by the Le Page family, descendants of Nicholas Le Page, a tailor who sailed from the Channel Island of Guernsey and put down roots here in 1854. When the family eventually sold, they were determined to see something they could be proud of. They got it.
Pagewood Park opened on 23 March 1978 - the largest cluster housing development in Victoria at the time - officially launched by Premier Dick Hamer, who said he was there because he liked “the idea of people living in a community where they can take an effective role in what goes on around them.” Nearly fifty years later, that spirit is still very much alive.
The estate takes its name from the Le Page family. Two of its internal streets are named after Everest Le Page and his wife Lynda. The neighbouring Le Page Gardens, donated by the family to the City of Moorabbin, stands as a further tribute to their century of stewardship of this land.
Today, Pagewood Park is home to 139 privately owned lots across 6.6 hectares of landscaped common property - with a community hall, sporting courts, shared gardens, and a social calendar that would put most suburbs to shame.
This website is brought to you by the volunteer Committee of Management, as a resource for residents and a guide for anyone considering making Pagewood Park their home.
